Hailsham
2026A boutique hotel web platform built with Next.js and Tailwind CSS, weaving editorial typography and GSAP scroll choreography together with immersive suite showcases and reservation workflows.
Hailsham is an atmospheric digital showcase built for a heritage colonial bungalow hotel situated in Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. The website serves as a digital gateway, welcoming travelers into the estate's suites and tea gardens.
The design emphasizes editorial typography, warm palettes, and subtle motion. Visitors experience immersive room walkthroughs, interactive amenities, and ambient scroll transitions powered by GSAP reflecting the property's serene atmosphere.
I built the frontend using Next.js 16 with React 19 and Tailwind CSS v4. I created modular components for room showcases and reservation inquiry workflows, ensuring rapid page loads across international mobile networks.
Challenge
Communicating the tactile intimacy of a heritage boutique retreat through web screens without bogging down load performance under large full-bleed imagery and complex editorial page choreography across varied international network conditions.
Solution
I structured the layout around Next.js App Router streaming with modern responsive image sets and blur placeholders. Scroll-triggered animations were mapped using lightweight GSAP timelines, creating a calm, uninterrupted transition experience between rooms and amenities.
